At about 15 km there are the wide and golden beaches of Giardini Naxos and Taormina, enchanting places to enjoy the wonderful sea and the sun of Sicily, to go on boat trips and also diving, or just to visit interesting archaeological areas and museums.
Also within a short distance from Linguaglossa, at about 18 km, on the Ionic Coast, there is the tourist port of Riposto, the Cyclopes Riviera, with its interesting nature reserve of the Island of Lachea, and the cities of Acireale and Catania.
The mountain and the sea are not the only natural attractions, indeed at about 10 km toward the hinterland in the north-west direction, along the Alcantara river there are spectacular gorges excavated by the river in the basalts of Etna, while at about 12 km near the sea, in the municipality of Fiumefreddo, there is the natural reserve of Fiumefreddo where there are particularly cold springs.
The municipality of Linguaglossa also offers the visitor several sporting activities (swimming pool, tennis courts, gyms and an 18- hole- golf resort at just 2 km from the village) and historical-cultural attractions. The old town is replete with churches, buildings, squares and typical narrow streets made of basalt, as well as the Ethnographic Museum hosted by the local Pro Loco. You can also taste the typical wines of Etna in the various wine cellars and the numerous local specialties.
